StormFilter™

Advanced Stormwater Filtration with StormFilter

The StormFilter is a widely used stormwater treatment device in New Zealand, designed to remove sediment, nutrients, metals, and hydrocarbons from runoff before it enters the drainage network or local waterways. StormFilters are commonly found at commercial developments, industrial sites, car parks, and new residential subdivisions—anywhere that requires reliable, advanced stormwater filtration to meet environmental standards.

How StormFilters Work

Stormwater enters the StormFilter unit and passes through a series of filter cartridges containing specialized media. These cartridges capture and retain pollutants, allowing only treated water to exit the system. The modular design allows for flexible installation and effective contaminant removal, even during high flow events.

Why Maintenance Matters

Regular maintenance is essential to keep StormFilters operating efficiently. Over time, filter cartridges can become clogged with sediment and debris, reducing treatment performance and potentially causing bypass or flooding. Proper maintenance helps maintain water quality, system reliability, and compliance with council requirements.

Professional StormFilter Maintenance Services

At Dutton Stormwater, we provide expert maintenance services for StormFilter systems across New Zealand. Our team inspects, cleans, and replaces filter cartridges as needed, ensuring your system remains efficient, effective, and compliant with local regulations. For underground StormFilter units, maintenance may require confined space entry, which is performed by our specially trained technicians following strict safety protocols.

Recommended Service Frequency

StormFilters typically require maintenance every six to twelve months, depending on site conditions and pollutant loading. During each service, we assess the StormFilter’s condition and includes a job summary with any recommendations in your service report.

Extend the lifespan of your StormFilter.
