Stormwater Interceptor

A stormwater interceptor is a device that separates pollutants from stormwater runoff before it enters a drainage system or waterway. Using a multi-chambered design and gravity, stormwater interceptors remove solids, oils, and other contaminants, preventing them from polluting the environment.

Stormwater enters the interceptor and flows through a series of chambers. Heavier particles settle to the bottom, while oils and lighter contaminants rise to the top. This process allows cleaner water to exit the system, protecting downstream infrastructure and local waterways.

Regular maintenance is essential to keep stormwater interceptors functioning effectively. Over time, sediment and oil build up in the chambers, reducing treatment efficiency and increasing the risk of blockages, flooding, or non-compliance with council requirements.
